833. Unfortunately, I haven't gone apple picking this year, but the farmers market is keeping me supplied! 🍎 🍏 Kicking off my apple binge with Ina's simple Apple Dried Cherry Turnovers! The fruit is mixed with sugar, cinnamon + nutmeg, sealed is store-bought puff pastry, brushed in egg wash, sprinkled with sugar, and baked. I used demerara sugar rather than granulated to top the turnover because I like the crunch it provides. The apples and cherries really bake down in this, leaving a rather large air pocket, which (once they cooled slightly) I stuffed with French vanilla ice cream for an even better treat. 🍨 📖: #backtobasics, page 196 #inagarten #barefootcontessa #howeasyisthat #storeboughtisfine #cassandraskitchen
